Bud Moore's road-racing experience in NASCAR paid off when Ford appointed Bud Moore Racing to campaign a pair of Boss 302 Mustangs for 1969. Beaten by 14 Championship points to Roger Penske's Camaro driven by Mark Donahue in 1969, Bud Moore's team returned with a vengeance in the 1970 Trans-Am series to win 6 of the 11 races to take the Trans-Am Championship with drivers Rufus Parnell (Parnelli) Jones #15 and George Follmer #16. Jones also won the Drivers' Championship.
