Ford's grandfather of all ponycars was deployed in motorsport challenges from the very beginning and was very successful at stealing the prey of the large sports car manufacturers. Pro or amateur, a powerful V8-engine in a relatively compact Mustang always had a good chance of podium spot. Poor qualifying result ? Why not overtake half the field of small and common sports cars on the straights ? You'll soon be close to a podium finish !
For more traction : Currently NO aftermarket high performance silicone tires are available to fit the rims of this car. Maxxtrac tires M52 or M52X CAN be used if the center rib on the wheels is sanded down. Careful to not overload the motor in the car if you do try this.
