Description

PORSCHE 917K MARTINI BRANDS HATCH 1000KM 1971 #9 VAN LENNEP/LARROUSSE SW SHARK 21.5K EVO

The #9 Porsche 917K Martini was one of the heroines of the grueling 1000km of Brands Hatch 1971. Driven by Gijs van Lennep and Gérard Larrousse, the car faced the storm of water and mud that marked the race with a tactical and tenacious approach.

The start is already a challenge: wet terrain, racing lines to reinvent, and a battle for grip from the very first lap. The #9 adopts a cautious strategy, keeping the car in optimal condition for the long distance.

As the rain increased, the drivers' qualities emerged: van Lennep exploited his great sensitivity in the wet, while Larrousse managed the most critical moments with clarity and a constant pace.

In the finale, when the track becomes a veritable torrent of water and debris, the #9 917K continues to lap with surprising efficiency. Its overall performance embodies Porsche's resilience in endurance racing: speed, engineering, and unwavering determination.
