"Euro" Style Wheels use an enlarged center diameter to retain the tire on the rim as illustrated above.  These types of rims are most universally used in today's 1/32 RTR (ready to run) cars.  They can be plastic press fit to a plain or knurled axle, or they can be machined aluminum or lighter weight magnesium secured by an Allen setscrew.  Application chart - silicone tires for 1/32 RTR cars : link

Indy Grips "New Compound" Silicone Tires

NEW COMPOUND INDY GRIPS SILICONE TIRES

"New Compound" Indy Grips are made using a compound of silicone & other rubbers in a high temperature, high  pressure molding process using all-new tooling.  Benefits include a lack of voids and imperfections allowing installation and subsequent use without any risk of tearing or chunking.  These tires perform well and are durable on the abrasive Ninco track surface where other silicones chunk and tear !  The mass production techniques used help to avoid shortages that have been common with hand made tires.  Nicely rounded sidewalls and realistic appearance just like the original tire are standard as is improved traction on any type of racing surface.  Since the rubber is fully cured these will not deposit silicone oils or other contaminants on the track surface as will the conventional tires.  An ID code or part number is molded on the back surface to help avoid confusion if similar tires are mixed.  The toughness of the rubber that makes these difficult to sand, but they can be ground using high speed tools.  Links : Cross Reference "New Compound" to Hand Poured Indy Grips : PDF  HTML Product News HTML  tech tips

PROFESSOR MOTOR TIRE "WEEGIES"

Professor Motor Tire "Weegies" help to solve the complex issue of tire fit to the non-standard rims that exist on today's 1/32 slot racing cars.  These "Weegie" O rings widen the center raised portion of the rims and help to hold the tire in place when it is subject to lateral forces when cornering.  Multiple "weegies" can be used if necessary to make up the disparity between the wheel & tire which allows for a very wide range of tires to fit a wheel.  "Weegies" work well with BOTH rubber tires and silicone tires.  If multiple "weegies" are used on a single rim glue them in place with epoxy or superglue before the tire is installed.  All 'weegies" are 0.040" (1mm) cross section & are available in the following sizes :  PMTR1035 - Small Hub "Weegies" for F1 type hubs - 8 weegies/package  PMTR1036 - Large Hub "Weegies" for non F1 (larger) type hubs - 8 weegies/package

Other Silicones & Euro Rubber Type Tires

Professor Motor also offers the original hand poured Indy Grip tires, hand molded "euro" tires by Michael Ortmann (click on the link above)  & the "Road Hugger" brand of premium silicone tires.  All of these types of tires can be easily sanded to correct out of round wheel & axle assemblies if needed.  Road Huggers are produced using vacuum & are easy to install without tearing or chunking.  The original hand poured Indy Grip tires (PMTR part numbers) are best installed by soaking in hot tap water & installing wet to help prevent damage during assembly.  For best overall car performance use rubber type tires on front wheels.
