Guy Ligier drove this Ford GT40 Mk I, although he was mostly known for competing in F1 races, decided to take on the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours. The Ford GT40 MK II ended up dominating the podium that year by taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The Ford GT40 MK I held its own in races, but eventually was upgraded to the MK II specifications, becoming one of the most successful cars of all time, solidifying its place in the history books.
